This activity was held by the Makassar City National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), as part of an effort to strengthen the awareness of the younger generation of the dangers of drug abuse.
This counseling was attended by students of the 2nd generation of Makassar City, and was also attended by the Principal of Makassar 52 Middle School, Drs. Syamsuddin, and the teachers who accompanied students.
In his remarks, Noptiadi stressed the importance of early education about the dangers of drugs.
βThe younger generation is the nationβs assets. Donβt let drugs take their future. Activities like this are a tangible form of our commitment to protect and guide them in a better direction,β Noptiadi said before the participants.
This activity is one of the strategic steps of the city government in preventing the spread and abuse of narcotics among students, which is considered vulnerable to being the target of illicit drug trafficking.
Through this counseling, students are given an understanding of the types of drugs, the adverse effects on physical and mental health, as well as applicable legal sanctions.
It is hoped that the participants will not only become a formidable person in dealing with the temptation of drugs, but are also able to become agents of change in their respective environments.
Head of SMPN 52 Drs. Syamsuddin.,M.Si., appreciated the Kesbangpol initiative and the support of the Education Office in organizing this activity.
